Karen is the technical consultant for food technology in the Business Support Centre in the NWRC.
Karen is responsible for developing relationships with businesses in the area of food and identifying their requirements. Engaging in innovation and technical projects and supporting local business needs.
Karen gained her B.Sc. (hons) Food Science and Nutrition at Northumbria University in Newcastle Upon Tyne. She has worked within industry since graduating focusing in food product development. Karen gained experience in large and medium productions specialising in bakery and more recently poultry industries.
She has worked with the big 4 UK supermarkets, as well as own brand and premium producers and retailers and has a wealth of experience and knowledge of food production and product development processes having successfully launched in excess of 200 products.
