Marc is a Business Development Executive within North West Regional College’s Business Support Centre. He helps businesses across the North West secure funding, courses, qualifications and support for training, upskilling and development of staff, managers, leaders and business owners. Over the past 3 years Marc has supported local businesses with over 600 upskilling projects for 1,000 people.
He coordinates the Skills Focus Programme for NWRC and also works with colleagues in the Business Support Centre on programmes including Assured Skills Academies and the COVID 19 Flexible Skills Fund. Marc has more than 20 years’ experience in supporting businesses throughout Northern Ireland having worked in the private sector and also for a number of local councils and local enterprise agencies across NI.
He was a Director of Enterprise NI and the Aspire Business Loan Fund, and a Regional Director for the Go for it Programme having helped over 1,000 new start-ups. In his time with local councils Marc managed a number of projects ranging from initiatives to secure foreign direct inward investment through to programmes helping local businesses to access international markets through, accessing grants and funding and accessing specialist technical support for growth and innovation.
He also managed a number of upskilling and employment programmes including Steps 2 Success NI, ApprenticeshipNI, Training 4 Success, New Deal, and several ESF and other European Funded programmes. Marc also worked as a Senior Consultant for a number of projects including the Logon NI programme, The Fashion and Textile Hub and Inner City Trust, Start Up Loans and also several Business Angel financed start-ups.
