Jonathan Steele
Jonathan is an Engineering Consultant with the Business Support Centre providing professional design support and technical mentoring to businesses. He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2006 with a MEng (Hons) in Product Design Engineering and also holds a PGDE in Technical Education from the University of Strathclyde.
Prior to joining the Business Support Centre, Jonathan gained over eight years’ professional experience in mechanical design engineering and product design in a range of sectors including medical, consumer product, subsea technology, industrial manufacturing and agri. He is a confident SolidWorks 3D CAD professional with additional skills in 2D CAD and Adobe Creative Suite applications.
Jonathan has a sound knowledge of the design process from conceptualisation through to market release. He worked as the design lead on several products now on the market including medical devices exported globally for acute respiratory care. Jonathan’s expertise includes rapid prototyping techniques, precision engineering, injection moulding (component and tooling design) and metal fabrication.
