Ulick Hughes
Ulick is an Engineering Associate Consultant based at the college’s I4.0 Centre at our Springtown Campus. He provides support and technical mentoring to businesses across multiple sectors, helping them embrace automation, digital transformation, and innovative manufacturing solutions.
Ulick specialises in SMART Manufacturing, Automation, Robotics, Engineering Systems, 3D Scanning, 3D Printing, and CAD Design. He brings a hands-on, problem-solving approach to projects blending mechanical engineering expertise with a passion for new technologies and process optimisation.
He has guided businesses in adopting advanced production methods and integrating Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance productivity, precision, and sustainability. Ulick recognises the importance of collaboration between academia and industry, and works to bridge that gap through practical innovation and applied research.
Ulick holds a Bachelor Honours in Mechanical Engineering from ATU and a Postgraduate Diploma in Innovation Management from Queen’s University Belfast.
