Company background

Camino Love Tours is a company created by Kevin Wilson who spent the last five months offering guided tours and believed that he had identified a niche in the market.

Challenge

Kevin wanted to develop a prototype for a tourism and dating app that would allow him to manage his tours remotely.

Solution

In order to overcome this obstacle, Kevin made contact with North West Regional College (NWRC) Business Support Centre (BSC) who supported him through the InnovateUs programme which is funded by the Department for the Economy.

This provided 30 hours of 1:1 mentoring support from NWRC Creative and Digital Media Consultant, Aaron McKeever, who provided upskilling in concept design, walkthroughs, UI design, 3D mock ups and creating components to be used for visual demonstration.

Impact

On completion of the project, Kevin has successfully developed a prototype for a tourism and dating app that allows him to manage his tours remotely.

Future

Testimonial from Camino Love Tours who described the benefits of working with NWRCs Business Support Centre at Derry City and Strabane District Councils Enterprise week. Having spoken to Aaron he informed me of the simple registration process and within 10 minutes I had applied and a couple of weeks later I was grateful to receive 30 hours design training towards an online application that I had been developing. Within a few days I was provided with a training video on how to create a design mock-up using Adobe illustrator and due to the restrictions of social distancing, Aaron assisted further by helping to design the logo for the app, as well as the screenshots of the product design. He couldn’t have been more helpful, interpreted the design brief first -time and exercised great initiative. This opportunity has been invaluable in bringing the vision of my product/service to life, it has far exceeded my expectations and although the finished product allocation of time was short it has provided a catalyst and motivation to continue on the long road that many start-ups find themselves on but it’s another vital step on the journey.’’
