WJ Bellingham

Company background:

WJ Bellingham is a farm machinery and dairy equipment company based in Ballymoney. They sell a wide range of milking equipment and products to the farming industry.

Challenge:

The company wanted to design a mobile milking parlour however they required support to develop the concept and move from an idea through to a 3D CAD design.

Solution:

In order to overcome this obstacle, William made contact with North West Regional College (NWRC) Business Support Centre (BSC) who supported them through the InnovateUs programme which is funded by the Department for the Economy.

This provided 60 hours of 1:1 mentoring support from NWRC Engineering Technical Consultant, Jonathan Steele, who supported William in Solidworks 3D CAD, engineering design for manufacture and welding.

Impact:

On completion of the project, William successfully created a 3D CAD model of a mobile milking parlour.

WJ Bellingham described the benefits of working with NWRC BSC via the InnovateUs programme:

‘’The project was very good value for money when you consider the design and welding training that was received. We’re also interested in applying for an Invest Northern Ireland Innovation voucher in the future to assist with production manufacturing drawings and investigating further innovations.’’
