Rita is responsible for developing relationships with local food businesses and entrepreneurs identifying their requirements for business support from Foodovation. Her role involves engaging in innovation and technical projects, supporting all aspects of product development from recipe development, product testing and through to packaging and labelling requirements bringing product ideas to market.
Rita gained her BSc. (hons) Food & Nutrition at Ulster University in Coleraine and completed a Diploma in Industrial Studies.
She has a wealth of experience in Beef, Pork, lamb and chicken with additional specialisms in added value ready to cook products with inclusions of sauces, rubs and vegetables. Rita previously worked within the Meat industry and has a strong product development background from concept to launch, having managed a strong development team launching in excess of 200 Innovative lines into UK Retailers.
She is a passionate foodie having participated in many culinary food tours in London, Barcelona and Cyprus as well as UK food events linking both red meat and ingredient sectors – a great base for her culinary role at NWRC.
