Company Background
HidInImage Ltd is a company formed out of IP from the University of Ulster. Since 2016 HidInImage Ltd has been focused on commercialisation of this IP around new wearables intelligent technology for measuring, monitoring and rehabilitating patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis. The technology comprising both hardware and software, and are currently looking into the development of a number of wearable devices, supported by physical hardware products.

Challenge
HidInImage wished to develop a unique product in relation to new wearables, intelligent technology for measuring, monitoring and rehabilitating patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
They had already been in conversation with potential investors and required bespoke modelling solutions to demonstrate their product effectively and take this product further. They needed to develop modelling solutions and demonstrations using various CAD technologies, however they lacked the skills in CAD in order to deliver what their invewtors were looking forward.

Solution
To overcome this, Joan Condell from HidInImage got in contact with the Business Support Centre at the North West Regional College (NWRC) who supported them through the Innovate US programme, funded by Department for the Economy (DfE). This equated to 60 hours of mentoring support from Aaron McKeever, NWRC Creative and Digital Media Consultant.
Aaron developed a detailed project plan, which included core concepts design, upskilling on various tools and techniques in understandings of 2D and 3D CAD and intricate demonstrational animation. This further developed into animation and stimulation of designs, leading to creating digital product mockup designs, advanced animation and finally testing of finalised version.

Impact
As a result of the project, HidInImage had succeeded in CAD development for new Rheumatoid Arthritis product, a new to the world product in relation to visual prototypes and development, enabling them to showcase to potential global investors and manufacturing partner, Polyco Healthline the technological ability of the product through visual stimulations. Through the Innovate US program, Aaron had upskilled Joan on various design programmes and software packages, increasing her skillsets to allow for future innovative development of new and future products. HidInImage are currently investigating further funding options, including the propel program.
