Solution
In order to overcome this obstacle, Jack made contact with North West Regional College (NWRC) Business Support Centre (BSC) who firstly supported him through the InnovateUs programme which is funded by the Department for Economy.
This provided 60 hours of 1:1 mentoring support from NWRC Foodovation Centre Manager Stella Graham who helped Jack develop skills in; new product design, upscaling, recipe development (numerous trails and tests of different ingredients were used to provide different flavours and was completed by using the Foodovation Centres micro-brewing facility), recipe standardisation, product labelling and shelf life assessment.
Stella also advised Jack on the licencing requirements for him to sell the beers. NWRCGo for it’ programme which allowed him to run through his business plan.
