6ElementsNutrition is a nutritional company based in Ballymoney which delivers evidence-based nutrition and health goals to clients on a 1 to 1 online basis.

Challenge

6ElementsNutrition wanted to develop a flavoured water kefir kit to improve the well-being of consumers and break into a new market to provide products that improve, boost, and help health through improving gut microbiome and thus overall health. Jordan required assistance of turning this dream into a viable product to sell at local markets.

Solution

To assist and make their idea a reality, 6ElementsNutrition contacted the NWRC Foodovation Centre team who supported them through the Department for the Economy Connected Programme on the development of orange, turmeric & ginger and raspberry water kefir with the aim to set all local markets across Northern Ireland.

NWRC Food Technology Technical Consultant, Christina Perry, provided develop orange, turmeric and ginger water kefir and raspberry kefir inclusive of development, recipe standardisation, packaging support, understanding HACCP, shelf-life review, product labelling, nutritional information and identification and control of allergens.

Impact

The company was able to successfully develop flavoured water kefir kits which enabled them to break into a new market.
